Transformational Education is What We Need Right Now!
Teaching mastery is highly effective as it addresses the needs of the individual and helps them take control of their education. Mastery is concept based, while grade levels are attendance based. Which would you rather spend time and energy on?
No More Grade Levels
Mastery eliminates the need for grade levels – and no more “middle school” or “high school”.
No More "Behind"
With mastery, your child learns more concepts in a shorter period of time, without the pressure of checking off lesson plans.
No More Barriers
Struggling learners and advanced kids alike, all benefit from the mastery-based method.
No More Confusion
Even if you don’t feel adequate in certain subjects, our courses will help you learn how to teach language arts, social studies, math, and any subject, with confidence and clarity.

The Teaching Mastery Series Courses
There are four courses in the Teaching Mastery Series. Purchase separately (when available), or get the entire series in one package. The Teaching Mastery Basic Training and Ditching Grade Levels training is included with each course as well as in the full series.

Teaching pre-college math to mastery
The Teaching Pre-Algebra thru Algebra course is the most intensive of our courses and has videos for parents to teach every math concept from the point after the child masters long division all the way through mastering Algebra 2 (so about 5th grade math onward, equivalent to 6 years of math but without the added busywork). Each concept comes with printable worksheets and answer keys. This course removes over 1000 hours of attendance-based filler - reducing entire 6 year equivalency to less than 150 lessons!
This course may be used in lieu of an actual curriculum to help parents teach any child, or get any child back on the right course, even if the parent is not proficient in math. This course has a pre-requisite that the child must be proficient through addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. There is a division review to check proficiency and assess readiness. If the student masters all concepts in this course, they will be adequately prepared for college pre-calculus or trigonometry. Available in the Elite Master Membership or the Homeschool Hub Master membership.
Teaching ELEMENTARY math to mastery
This course is different than the pre-college course in that we do not provide video training on every concept, as there are only 7 concepts (counting and sorting, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division) and every child learns and masters these basic skills differently and at their own pace. We provide training on what should be taught and in what order, and a plethora of free resources to help you teach confidently, even if you don't know math well. Learn how to create customized worksheets and tests for FREE, without overloading with attendance based filler.(Not sold separately, it is included in the Homeschool Hub Master or Elite Master Membership)

Teaching LANGUAGE ARTS TO mastery
The Teaching Language Arts to Mastery course walks thru all of the grammatical, writing, reading, communication, research and analysis skills needed to teach language arts to mastery at any age. Blends beautifully with outside the box methodologies (TJed, Charlotte Mason, Unschooling, etc). It is a great blueprint to plan for success in college and life, especially for kids who are "behind" or think language arts challenges are going to keep them from higher aspirations. We have removed over 1100 hours of attendance-based filler work and replaced it with a mastery-based structure. There are 12 sections to this course, plus Quick Guides and pre-college planning guides. (Not sold separately, it is included in the Homeschool Hub Master or Elite Master Membership)
Teaching SOCIAL STUDIES TO mastery
The Teaching Social Studies to Mastery course gives guidance and resources to teach all aspects of social studies from cultures, to history, to geography, civics and government, speech and debate, economics, and more. Not sure what counts as social studies credit? We'll help you piece it together! There are 10 sections in this course, plus a host of free resources and bonus content. (Not sold separately, it is included in the Homeschool Hub Master or Elite Master Membership)

FAQ
Not if you follow the steps. The Teaching Mastery series shows you how to teach math, language arts, and other subjects without having to purchase a curriculum. We give you everything you need to teach math from 5th grade level thru Algebra 2, but we leave out the attendance-based busywork. For all other subjects and levels, we'll help you customize curriculum without buying anything additional. You also have live coaching to really hone in on each individual child.
With a traditional grade-level setting, lessons are attendance-based. This means there are generally 150 filler lessons per subject, per year, which don't need to be there, in order to satisfy the 180 attendance hours, frustrating kids with unnecessary busy work. By removing busy work, kids master concepts and keep moving forward in a shorter amount of time without pressure of falling behind or feeling stuck in a grade level.
We have spent 2 decades on this task so you don't have to! We'll give you lists of what needs to be taught, eliminating busy work. Our goal is to simplify the process without dumbing it down, so only the good stuff stays. Each course in the series comes with mentoring and guidance, so anytime you have a question, contact support and we will help you sort it out.
Mastery is easier for your child! Once a child starts to fall behind, it slowly begins to feel like they will never get ahead. By removing the unnecessary filler lessons and grade level stigma, your child now has fewer "things to do" and can quickly catch up.
It is not recommended. Our courses are designed for the parent to take control alongside their child. Teaching mastery is a two-person approach. In order for you to properly assess mastery of concepts and understand any gaps, the parent needs to be involved. We teach you the concept, you teach your child. Your child then puts the concept into action and masters it. They do not move forward unless they have mastered the concept 100 percent. We teach you how to assess mastery, to recognize gaps, and to mentor your child from one concept to the next.
Again, grade levels were specifically designed to keep kids in school for 12 years, to box them into attendance and dumb down content so we think they are not ready for the next level. Mastery removes the unnecessary filler and simplifies the content without dumbing it down. When we remove grade level filler and dumbed down content, the child has freedom to move forward at their own pace at a higher level, which creates incredibly powerful leverage of their time. Sometimes they will move quickly through a concept, other times they will need to slow down. Therefore, they are always working on mastering something new so they can level up when THEY are comfortable doing so. But by always teaching at a higher level, you're not losing time.
The pre-college math course includes every single concept that is normally covered in 5th thru 10th grade math, thru Algebra 2. We've removed over 1000 hours of filler work from standard curriculum. In this course, there are less than 150 concepts which are the equivalent of actual topic learning for SIX years. If a child masters 100 percent on each concept, one per day, that's less than 150 days to master the equivalent of SIX years of math! Some will go faster, some will go slower. But if your child is starting this program right after mastering long division (normally 4th grade), you'll have a six year buffer. In a remedial situation (if the child is older and needs to start over from long division), they can be college-ready in less than six months.
High school Geometry was inserted between Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 to slow down students and keep them in school. It is a filler subject, and primarily serves to frustrate kids who didn't master Algebra 1, as it contains algebraic equations. When we placed a standard high school Geometry textbook next to college freshman Trigonometry, we found they are nearly identical except Trigonometry also includes some Algebra 2, revealing that Trigonometry is essentially a repeat of high school Geometry. Therefore, with our mastery approach to pre-college math preparation, we suggest the student master Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 at the high school level, then take pre-Calculus or Trigonometry at the college level. This is an opportunity to begin early college credits and save a lot of time and money!
There are only a handful of states left who still require annual reporting for each grade level. However, we will walk you through how to report mastery for each grade level you are required to report and for each subject.
